For a while I've been embedding my live journals in my web side at home. (It's much easier than maintaining my own blog software installation). For some time, I've been doing this by creating a couple of communities and posting to individual communities for specific items. This for the frogtown front page went to a frogtown community, things about Joe went somewhere else, etc...
It seems that Live Journal has implemented tags over the last few years and it's possible to structure URLs that will only show posts for those tags. So I can ember, in different pages on my site, posts that are specifically about certain topics. So this post, for example, will go to the frogtown main page because it has the frogtown tag on it.
Neat, eh? |

| Frogtown.com outage this weekend! |
[Dec. 17th, 2003|01:43 pm] |
I am going to attempt a long overdue upgrade of frogtown.com, both in hardware and software. This could take a few hours, it could take all weekend. Expect frogtown.com and all hosted sites to be unavailable during this time. Not only that, but I'm going to be upgrading from a seriously old distribution. I would not be surprised if there were a few days of weird and/or broken behavior until the upgraded box is finally stabilized. Cheers. |

Looks like QWest pulled one of the wires on our DSL line yesterday afternoon while they were instaling our new fax line. And I didn't get a chance to fix it until this afternoon as we were too busy with the birth...
Oh yeah, birth announcement. Born pre-mature at 31 weeks 4 days, at 4 and a half pounds, a healthy baby boy. So far he hasn't told us his name yet, but we expect he will soon.
The baby is in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit and will likely remain there for a month or so, but he's doing great. He's breathing on his own an everything. And... oh yes, SO adorable.
I'd say more but I really need to just grab some things, shower, and head back to the hospital.
I'll find somewhere to post pictures... maybe this evening?
Cheers. |
